STAND STILL, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD!!!
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
— Exodus 14:13
The greatest weapon in the hand of the devil against a believer is FEAR.
Fear is opposite to faith. When our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ came, the critical thing He has to deliver us from, apart from the forgiveness of our sins, is fear.
Luke 1:74-75;
"That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without FEAR,
In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life."
Hebrews 2:14-15
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
And deliver them who through FEAR of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."
Serving God in holiness and righteousness is only possible when we are delivered from fear.
The Hebrews scripture pointed out categorically that the main reason why our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has to died is to deal with one challenge the devil has used to subject the entire world unto bondage which is FEAR.
For our sins and for our healings, His blood is sufficient, because His blood cleanses us from all sins and by His stripes we are healed but dealing with the issue of FEAR, He needed death to solve the problem of fear.
A servant of God once defined FEAR as:
F: False
E: Exaggeration
A: Appearing
R: Real
Going with this definition, most of the things that appears real to you and put you in fear is a false exaggeration of the enemy.
That is the reason in the scripture, you will hear FEAR NOT, be STRONG and of a good COURAGE.
Just as our text above in Exodus, the same words of encouragement we found in Psalm 46:10;
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
These words contain God’s command to the believer when he is reduced to great straits and brought into extraordinary difficulties. He cannot retreat; he cannot go forward; he is shut up on the right hand and on the left; what is he now to do? The Master’s word to him is, “Stand still.” It will be well for him if at such times he listens only to his Master’s word, for other and evil advisers come with their suggestions. Despair whispers, “Lie down and die; give it all up.” But God would have us put on a cheerful courage, and even in our worst times, rejoice in His love and faithfulness.
Cowardice says, “Retreat; go back to the worldling’s way of action; you cannot play the Christian’s part, it is too difficult. Relinquish your principles.” But, however much Satan may urge this course upon you, you cannot follow it if you are a child of God. His divine fiat has bid thee go from strength to strength, and so thou shalt, and neither death nor hell shall turn thee from thy course in Jesus Name.
What, if for a while you are called to stand still, yet this is but to renew your strength for some greater advance in due time.
Precipitancy cries, “do something. Stir yourself; to stand still and wait, is sheer idleness.” We must be doing something at once—we must do it so we think—instead of looking to the Lord, who will not only do something but will do everything. Avoid presumption because presumption boasts, “If the sea be before you, march into it and expect a miracle” is dangerous.
But Faith listens neither to Presumption, nor to Despair, nor to Cowardice, nor to Precipitancy, but it hears God say, “Stand still,” and immovable as a rock it stands. “Stand still;”—keep the posture of an upright man, ready for action, expecting further orders, cheerfully and patiently awaiting the directing voice; and it will not be long ere God shall say to you, as distinctly as Moses said it to the people of Israel, “Go forward.”
This moment again, I repeat it unto you, in that decision concerning your business;
"Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord".
In your studies as a student don't go the way of the ungodly;
"Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord"
In your marriage as a married person or as single looking for a marriage partner, don't copy the people of the world concerning the challenge you are facing now;
"Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord "
God Almighty who delivered the children of Israel at the Red Sea, will definitely deliver you at your own Red Sea, whatever may be your situation in Jesus Name! Amen.
Have a great and a wonderful day!
God bless us all.
