From the Pastor's desk....
Good morning to all and bless the LORD for another wonderful day that He has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
...
This verse is to those who refuse to humble themselves before the Lord and repent of wickedness, and think that God will not one day vindicate Himself:
"The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17)
This verse is for all those who have repented and turned from wickedness, and realize that had they not repented, that in all likelihood, they would have maybe already reaped the reward of the wicked:
"Righteousness exalts a nation:but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)
So...Why do certain people rage against that which is good and holy and righteous? (Psalm 2) I think the first and foremost reason is that it brings conviction into their heart, whereas before,it didn't bother them. Our biggest problem as humans is pride. We don't like anyone to tell us or remind us of our wrong doings. We want to be able to have the right to do whatever we like without someone else telling us that we shouldn't do this or that. And to a certain extent I believe that we should have that right. But I think limits are needed for very obvious reasons, otherwise everyone would be doing anything and everything that comes into their feeble mind to do.
God ,Himself is the One who has established those limits. He gave us the Ten Commandments to show us what sin was.We must realize that they are not called the Ten Suggestions, but, the Ten Commandments.
Let's take the subject of Homosexuality for example. In history, there have always been homosexuals, and in all likelihood there will always be homosexuals until the Lord Himself returns and puts down all rebellion, including this gross sin.If the homosexual community is allowed to continue on in their agenda, unchecked, and have laws passed in this land to allow them the right to do what they want, then that will ultimately pave the way for anyone else who believes they have the right to do what they want,to see that laws are passed that will give them their equal rights under the law.
Take for instance,Pediphiles. We have in this nation a certain part of the populace that believe they should have the right to molest, and have sex with children without any legal repercussions.I wonder how many of the homosexuals in our country feel that these perverts should have their rights granted to them?!Then we have another part of the populace of this nation that believes they should have the right to have sex with animals without any legal repercussions, and even the right to marry them if they choose.I wonder how many of the homosexuals and pediphiles believe they should have these right granted to them?!
Oh,let's not forget the part of the populace in this nation who are necrophiles. They want their right to have sex with dead bodies. How many of the homosexuals, pediphiles and beastiphiles would like to see their rights granted to these people?!
Let's not leave out the others who feel that they should have the right to robbery, stealing, murder, adultery, pornography (Adult and Child) and the list goes on and on.
So,you ask,"where am I going with this foolish scenario?" First of all,is it really foolish? I think not.If we begin to grant everyone their right to do what they think is right for them, then where will it end,and who will be the one that decides what is acceptable and what is unacceptable? Is it really all that far fetched to think that there wouldn't be those in society who think that they should be allowed to do whatever they want? Really....think about it for just a moment. What about those who would want the right to run red lights and stop signs anytime they wish without any police officer pulling them over and citing them for violating the laws?
I can remember the first statistics that came out in public following the death of Rock Hudson.86% of aids patients were homosexual, the rest were intraveinous drug users and those who contracted it from tainted blood in transfusions. The homosexual community and the news media had a field day with this, and it wasn't to very long before they were told not to report this statistic anymore.
My point is this,If we allow anyone to have the right to do whatever they wish, without any legal repercussions, then where will society end up? It will end up in the same place it was in Noah's day.Men's hearts will only be on evil continually.Unchecked by laws for the good and common decency of all concerned,we will end up with anarchy. And this is exactly what God was trying to show us by giving us the Ten Commandments. If we do away with the National Conscience of this Nation,we will have anarchy. Our National Conscience is the Ten Commandments.
Mankind does not want to be reminded that they are at odds with their Creator and that they have violated His divine plan for them.God didn't give us the Ten Commandments to keep us from something that was good for us,He gave them to us to show us what sin was,and by violating these Commandments we incur the penalty for our disobedience. The unbeliever all to often forgets that these Laws and Commandments apply to all people equally, saint and sinner alike.
The only hope for mankind is the grace of an Almighty God who loves us so much that He was willing to give His only Begotten Son,to die in our place for sin. But,lest we forget, the Son of God also agreed to become man for the purpose of redeeming us out from under the curse of sin.Sin unchecked only becomes more sinful, our freedom to do as we please without laws hindering us will only make sin worse,it will never make society better.
This is food for thought,so those who do not agree, well you are entitled to believe what you like, but do not deceive yourself into thinking that one day you will not have to give an account of your life to God..............May God richly bless you all......J.W.
