From the Pastor's desk....
Good morning to all,in the name of Jesus Christ.I pray you are blessed beyond measure!
Truth, sin, and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, not only in the life of a believer, but also the affect it has on an unbelieving world can be found in John 16:7-13.
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth;it is expedient (necessary) for you that I go away:for if I go not away, the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) will not come unto you;but if I depart,I will send Him unto you.And when He is come,He will reprove (convict) the world of sin, righteousness, and of judgement:of sin, because they believe not on Me;of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see Me no more;of judgement, because the prince of this world (Satan) is judged.I have yet many things to say unto you,but ye cannot bear them now.Howbeit when He the Spirit of truth,is come,He will guide you into all truth:for He shall not speak of Himself;but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak:and He will show you things to come." (KJV)
One of the greatest problems facing an unbelieving world is the conviction of sin in the life of the unbeliever. It gives them trouble most especially when someone of the faith of Christianity speaks up on what is acceptable and what is unacceptable behavior. All other world religions inevitably down play sin in the life of it's adherents.
Religions that espouse reincarnation teach that sin isn't so bad,you will just keep being reborn into the world until you get it right, with no real eternal consequences for a life lived for the lust of the sin nature. There attitude is Karma sucks! Galatians 6:7-8 states "Be not deceived;God is not mocked:for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh (sinful nature) shall of the flesh (sinful nature) reap corruption (eternal separation from God);but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit, reap life everlasting." (KJV)
Mocking God or making fun of those who do their best to serve God,will not go unrewarded.Lampooning, lambasting, mocking, ridiculing and anything else that can be construed as a mockery of that which is good, making it look as if it is evil,is a fulfillment of end-time prophecy.Isaiah said "Woe (judgement) to them that make evil good, and good evil." Folks,Christians,we live in an extremely post modern world, where the supreme though nowadays is,"everyone has the right to do as they please, who is anyone else to tell someone what they can and cannot do?" "Who are you, mister or sister,to tell me what is right or wrong?"
The answer seems so easy to me,and I hope to many others, that it cannot be ignored. From a Christians perspective it should always be what the Word of God says is right or wrong, the Word is infallible, our consciences are not! No one can trust their conscience completely to make decisions for them,we possess a fallen nature, and this includes a conscience that more often than not will lead us to do what we "think" is right, even in the face of violating God's word. This is by and large why some Christians have bought the lie of the enemy, that Homosexuals should have the right to flaunt their sin in the face of others who do not wish to see it.It's almost as if they are daring God to do something about it.I know I'll probably get a lot of flack from what I'm about to say, but, could the Aids Epidemic be divine retribution for this ungodliness? In all likelihood, probably not.But just as uncontrolled drinking and drug abuse, smoking or any other sin that we are given over too,it has it's consequences attached to it,so does the homosexual life style.
Anytime a person is confronted about sin in their life, and I mean unrepentant sin, there will almost always be a negative reaction to the confrontation. This is the Holy Spirit at work in their life, they must not ignore it or pass it off as just some busybody trying to stir up trouble. The more a person violates their conscience and the Word of God,the deeper into sin they will plunge, and the end results will all to often be a seared conscience.
The Holy Bible is the guide for all people's consciences, saint and sinner alike. In order for a civilization to exist, there must be laws instituted for the common good of all,and the survival of said civilization, otherwise anarchy will ensue, and it wouldn't be long and the end would come for this people.America is faced with this at this time in our history.
Saints of God,please allow the Holy Spirit to bring conviction to your heart over anything that is not in alignment with the Word of God,and please,by all means, ask God to help you change whatever it is.He will show mercy and grace to those who will come to Him for help.
Sinners, those with unrepentant sin in your lives,my counsel is the same for you as well.Do not ignore the voice of the Spirit when He speaks to you about your life and the sinful things you do.If you want forgiveness and cleansing, come to Christ and He will make you clean and holy and pure.We are not promised tomorrow, and once this life is over you will face Jesus Christ for judgement. This life is the only opportunity you will get to receive Christ as Lord and Savior (Hebrews 9:27).
Please be blessed and consider the path that your feet are on,if your on the wrong path then there is still time to turn from it and get on the right one.........God bless.......pastor John.
