IN THE PIZZA BEGINNING
In the beginning there was no pizza and the roundness of the pan was without form and the metal was not tempered just right and a man beat out the metal after he formed it and moved across the floor of the kitchen and tested the pan and saw the pan was good for cooking all manner of pizza.
Then he looked for a bread to make the pizza and there was wheat and he saw the wheat and it was good, then he said let there be a millstone and let the millstone grind the wheat until the white is even, then let the wheat be cleanse of the chaff; let yeast and water and a pinch of salt with olive oil be added to the mixture and then let us knead it until it is the right consistency. Then he wondered about the kitchen and thought to himself let there be tomato sauce and he saw the tomato with the ingredients and it was good; then he said let there be tomato paste, olive oil, garlic power, dried oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper and let us mix it until it is just the right consistency for baking evenly. Then he thought to himself this is incomplete what must I seek to make my creation delightful to the eye, pleasant to the pallet, and agreeable to the stomach, he traveled to many a grocery and farmers market and found a cheese which would bring joy to the eater, he saw mozzarella and saw that it was good. He said let us spread the mozzarella out evenly upon the rounded pie and it was good. Yet he was not satisfied with the concoction therefore he thought to himself what must I find to improve this masterpiece; therefore visions of pepperoni, sausage, green bell peppers and various other meats and vegetables appeared unto him. O my! He exclaimed I can make a variety of pizzas and call these things added “toppings”. He saw these toppings and saw that it was good. He then proceeded to make the first around the world pizza, he sat there and ate every morsel of the 16” pie and moaned and groaned in amazement; and said what a happy guy am I, and it was good!
Brethren I don’t know about you: but I made myself a bit hungry! Like I like to say “Eat Pizza and Live”
