Truth & Consequences
One thing is for sure you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink it. As a minister and a citizen, I can only try to tell people the truth. When it comes to politics, and politicians I’ve grown use to broken promises, but when it comes to the gospel and Jesus, all the promises of God are: Yes and So be it.
If people want to believe lies and be hurt or damned that’s their decision, my responsibility is to try to shed light on darkness wherever it has a stronghold. Then I can stand before God without innocent blood on my hands.
One of the attributes of true love is that it cares enough to share the truth without compromise, sometimes feelings get hurt in the process, but when it comes to eternity, that’s the risk involved in winning a soul or souls into the Eternal Kingdom of God. Sometimes love hurts because the truth hurts when it tears down what we thought to be a reality, is in fact; found to be a falsity. One thing you will find out about me, is once I have found the truth about something, I won’t be backed down or compromise for the sake of temporary popularity; because I will have to give an account to the one who counts for time and eternity.
When it comes to the temporary realm in which I live, I am also responsible to be loyal to the truth. Being loyal to the truth, means trying to the best of my ability to present facts about any given subject or dynamic which has the potential to destroy or enhance lives spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and financially. I am called to that kind of responsibility as a child of God to be a force for good and to promote principles and dynamics that cause productivity within the society in which I live. Defaulting to spiritually is a false ploy that tries to relieve one of their responsibility to be their brother’s keeper. To just say we belong to a theocracy and have no responsibility in this life is a cop out! Being a witness is to be a light to what is right; period!
In the present paradigm it seems to be acceptable by many who call themselves Christians to forcibly take from one to give to another. Where in the bible does Jesus say to take anything by force from one person to give to another person. Can you quote me book, chapter, and verse? That’s a rhetorical question! Why? Because Jesus didn’t teach any such doctrine, but he did teach there are no fruits without labor, and also give and it shall be given unto you, he did teach render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, but then he followed up by saying; and unto God the things that are God’s. When it comes to obeying government verses God, then our allegiance is first to obey God.
Today the governments attitude is that we the people are it’s possession, but as Christians we belong to God first, our first fruits belong to God first. Within the Kingdom of God the principle of benevolence is already part and parcel of the Christian experience. We are already predisposed to be charitable according to the divine nature of God within us with the abundance that God has endowed us with. To demand that those who have earned their living by the sweat of their brow, by the perspiration of their own initiative and ingenuity, by the endurance of their own trials and errors, and then turn around and give them to a government which is out of control when it comes to wasteful spending is an injustice. It is an affront to the working class.
If anyone would take a look at the principles and practices of old testament law and the new testament principles concerning the distribution of food and funds to the poor they might get a new view concerning the way Christian Charity is really suppose to be conducted, not the socialist, progressive, or communistic political ideologies which not only permeate government but also Christianity today. God never penalizes those who work hard and prosper in his Kingdom, why because those whose heart truly belongs to God become a source for multiplied blessings in the world at large.
