The More We Know Of Jesus.
It was many years ago when The Lord Jesus came to live among us - The Creator clothed in humanity. Angels announced His birth as shepherds knelt in humility. The Father’s love was extended to all as Messiah walked among us. The sick and lame sought Him, a healing to receive, even blind eyes can now see. Most amazing; people once dead were restored to life.
As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ, we are amazed at the Love of God. One becomes aware of the most astounding truth of history, which is; The Father sent His Son - who gave His life - knowing that one such as I could not live my life sin free, because; “As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;” (Romans 3:10) I still do not understand how a pure and Holy God can love a sinner such as I.
We stand amazed knowing of that day in history when God's Son was brutally abused and led up Golgotha's hill. It was for this He came: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.” (John 12:32-33) Lifted up on a Roman cross, Jesus willingly suffered the agony of crucifixion - along with the mocking of they who had accused. The astonishing words spoken by our Redeemer before darkness fell upon the hillside were: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)
The more knowledge we have of Jesus never fails to amaze us. Most particular is the wonderful knowledge that death could not hold Him. As the third day dawned God's victory was declared when the female followers of Jesus found His tomb empty and hear the amazing question: "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" (Luke 24:5-6) In Romans 3:23-24 Paul explained that The Sacrificial death and Resurrection was because: “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
The more we know of Jesus, the more we acknowledge that He is our Amazing Savior: “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Hebrews 12:2-3)
Today, let us thank our God for His love shown in Jesus.
