Love; the definition matters!
Love without reprimands? Is it really Love? Love without disciplines? Is it really Love? I have sat at eye level with those who were damaged goods because of a mindset that love should never bring a disciplinary action in turn for a real life marring deed. They believed that unbiblical ideology because they read one chapter in the bible and forget to remember the whole counsel of God concerning what true love is all about. When we are unable to address the issues of life and understand love through the whole counsel of God we will inadvertently be the cause of much more heart ache and emotional trauma.
To simply spew a few verses of scripture about love or some smart sounding sayings about it, doesn’t undo the damage that some of those dark evil deeds do ...to the psyche of those whom have been assaulted by them. I for one am sick of the unbalanced message of sloppy agape that is being preached in our pulpits and public platforms. I have found; hurts run deep, and its takes time for many people to heal emotionally.
So when people think they are so much better or on some higher path because they spew these poison-ness misleading unbalanced teachings and sayings, they are doing more damage than they are good. Yes, love is the answer, but it’s the definition of love and how its dispensed that changes lives and heals hearts that hurt by the hurting words or deeds of others.
I quote again: “ Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2nd Timothy 2:15
When we rightly learn to comprehend the word of God, we will touch lives with a deeper impact, not with superficial sayings that sound good but have no righteous action behind them. We above all people “ Christians “ should never be a loud clamoring sound that doesn’t have much depth. Love is more than a bunch high or heavenly sounding words, it the having the right response and the right disciplinary action to the injustices of life. Loving those who have hurt us the deepest is the hardest thing we can do in this life, but that doesn’t mean we give them a free pass and do not hold them accountable. Hence, since love makes me accountable for my misdeeds, it stands to reason that it should also expect accountability.
Shalom & Agape!
