A Testimony
I still remember that day in the doctor’s office, waiting for the outcome of my medical tests. Looking up from reading his reports, the doctor said that the news was not good. Strangely I am not feeling anxious for I know who is in control, my life is in the hands of my Lord. It has been many years since I put my trust in Jesus, the one who saved my soul. After searching for life’s purpose, and not getting a satisfactory answer, began to read The Bible finding that the answer was there all along. As I read conviction came upon my heart. Conviction led to repentance, at which time Jesus forgave me of my sins.
I was young and healthy back then, now the years have taken their toll. Knowing Jesus as my Lord has made life worth living. Thankful for family and friends and the joys that keep my heart singing. Leaving the doctor's office, I was aware that my family will worry. It is at times like these that your family show their love by their support at each stage of the journey. One cannot say enough for their constant encouragement, always there with a helping hand.
The date arrived, and after hugs and good wishes, I was left in the hands of the medical staff to face the unknown. Through it all my heart is at peace remembering Jesus promise; "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27) The peace that Jesus promised sustained me through the surgery and recovery. He is faithful and His promises are trustworthy and sure.
Notwithstanding, these experiences makes one began to wonder. We all know that life is temporary, but what waits beyond the grave? Will it be judgment or reward? From judgment only Jesus can save. Into this world The Redeemer came His purpose was to make God known, consequently, to know Jesus is to know God. After atoning for mankind's sin, Jesus now waits to welcome believers home, because, He is Savior and Lord.
Today, let us thank Jesus for His promise of peace.
