DON’T GIVE UP ON THE WORLD: JESUS DIDN’T
I believe it was Jesus whom said occupy until I come, I believe it was Jesus whom said love your neighbor as you love yourself, I believe it was Jesus whom said do unto others as you would have them do unto you, I believe it was Jesus who said beware of false prophets. The bible teaches us how to live in this world while we wait for Jesus to come to institute the Kingdom. It teaches us values concerning being good stewards with our money, and to pray for those in authority over us, it even shows us examples of when to obey God over the authority of man, when that authority tries to supercede the authority of God in our lives. It may also tell us to love not the world neither the things which are in the world, concerning the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, but I’ve never read in context where it has commanded us to shirk our responsibilities as spouses, parents, neighbors, o...r citizens.
Edmond Burke a noted Statesman, coined the phrase “ All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” another wonderful truth he coined was “ Whenever a separation is made between liberty and justice, neither, in my opinion, is safe.”
Jesus said that the church is suppose to be a city set upon a hill, a light shinning in the darkness, and a witness by our good works. Why? Because the Father so loved “ the world “ He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him ( trusts him for salvation) shall receive everlasting life. Seems to me God loves the world so much that his Son was sacrificed for its sins. I will follow the word of God and the Son of God when it comes to being an agent of change. Jesus came to be our model of how to win a lost, hurting, and confused world to a loving, caring, and sacrificing God. When Jesus threw up his hands, its wasn’t defeat; but victory, even though those hands where pierced as he was hung upon the execution stake, even though his feet were pierced through while being nailed to that stake, in his last thoughts before he gave up the ghost they were of the world who crucified him. Yes, he loved the world so much that one of his last phrases before his vicarious sacrifice was of forgiving those whom did this cruel deed. He hung triumphantly upon that cross of crucifixion and defeated the devil that day, he holds the keys to life and has given us the keys to the kingdom.
Brethren stand for truth, and stand as agent of change no matter how dark it gets, we have much work to do in this world before Jesus comes. So keep your faith alive by keeping the word alive in you.
