The Stars Were Bright That Night The stars shone bright that night As the moon stood over the little town, A breeze caused the men to shiver As sheep drank at a near-by river,
Sheep are not normally considered smart However, they follow the shepherds lead, The long day had come to its end The flock were now settled,
All around there was not a sound When, from heaven a light shone around, “Do not be afraid” The voice was clear and firm,
Angels brought a message of great joy Directing shepherds to a newborn boy, “He will save his people from their sin” Words the world was in need of hearing,
Messiah’s coming had been foretold Shepherds knew the stories of old, They left their watch that night Eager to see the one the angels spoke of,
Shepherds were the first to greet him Jesus, born to save us from our sin.
