RESPONSE NOT REACTION
In my opinion to many times we react which I define impulsively act out of emotion, instead of responding which is to act out of maturity. Concerning our spirituality God gives us insight through his word so we can also respond out of revelation wisdom to the assaults and onslaughts of life’s different situations and our innate desires.
“ And the world, with its cravings, is passing away, but he who does God's will continues for ever. “ 1st John 2:17.
It’s about the great eternity, but each day confronts us with a new set of circumstances within the realm of the usual circumstances. Each day tempts us with a new temptation although it is familiar to us, for each day is designed to either enhance us or entrench us. How? Each day has within itself many choices which will present themselves to us as each minute of time comes to pass. Every day has within itself the opportunity to succeed or to fail. It comes down to a simple choice; we can choose in those moments to obey the word of God or the will of the flesh.
Essential cravings for self preservation are built into us by design, but to lust inordinately for the things of the world were introduce by the failure of the first Adam when he purposely partook of the forbidden fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. Before the fall he was content in the pristine state of his existence because of the innocence of his consciousness, he knew no guilt because he knew no evil, it was only when the distinction between these two came into full comprehension and the realization of how good God was and had been to Him and Eve that the guilt of their disobedience or sin changed the nature of innocence and contaminated them, they became deceptive in their new nature.
Every day has forbidden fruits which will be misrepresented and promoted by the shinning one called Lucifer in our tongue. He has been a murderer and a deceiver from the beginning and has a host of demonic hordes which do his bidding. They conspire to tempt you and taint you through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and by manipulating the innate sense of pride.
Distraction has been one of the greatest ploys of the enemy, but if we have an eternal perspective, and remember that the prize for the mark of the high calling of God is the goal to set for the present and to live eternally with God if we do not turn to the left or the right, but stay the course before us, “ he who does God’s will continues fore ever “.
Brethren, keep the faith today by standing your ground! Cravings come and go, but the word of God abides for ever. In times of temptations call upon the Lord for strength that is not your own, but supernatural. Choose based upon eternity, not the temporary and God will empower you by equipping you with the whole armor of spiritual warfare that you may be more than a conquer through Him. If we have to feel guilty to have it then how can we call it guilty pleasure. In regards to this world and the next:
“For the Kingdom of God does not consist of eating and drinking, but of right conduct, peace and joy, through the Holy Spirit; Romans 14:17
Let us worship the Lord continually in Spirit and in Truth, so that we may have righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Ghost! Amen!

Apostle Ritchie.
