From the pastor's desk....
Good morning my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. If you belong to Christ, then rest assured that one day He will return in the clouds of heaven and receive you to Himself, that where He is,we may be also.Bless His wonderful name!.......Amen.
I've been praying and thinking about the upcoming elections and what I should do as an American citizen, who is extremely concerned about where this nation is headed,in regards to who I vote for.As a Christian,it is of the utmost importance that we pray about who we should vote for.For me,it seems rather simple, for others maybe not!
To me the issue is not the economy, but rather a moral issue. The two main factors in play at this time,is the abortion and homosexual rights issues.I did some research on abortion statistics just for this nation.I discovered some interesting facts. All this can be found from the web sites: Ask.com and Wikipedia.org....
It is often argued by those who believe in abortion, that it is the right of women to do away with their unborn child through abortion. Many want to bring in the issue of rape, incest, the health of the mother and fetal abnormalities as a legitimate argument. My contention is this:A huge (95%) percentage of abortions performed in the United States is done for birth control purposes rather than for any of the other reasons....Here are the facts:
1.)Since the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973,legalizing abortion in all 50 states, there have been,as of the year 2010; 54,559,615 abortions performed in the United States alone.
2.) 3% or 1,636,788 for health reasons.
3.) 1% or 545,596 for incest or rape.
4.) 1% or 545,596 for fetal abnormalities.
This translates to approximately 2,727,980 abortions or 5% of the 54,559,615 abortions performed since 1973.It is safe to say that 51,831,635 abortions have been performed for birth control purposes. One can only wonder how many doctors, scientists, presidents, civil rights leaders, preachers, pastors,in general, great men and women who may have been the one to have found the cure for the common cold, not to mention a plethora of other solutions that may have been found for the ills of mankind,if they had not been aborted.
My point is simply this:95% of all abortions were done for selfish reasons, for birth control.Because they didn't use contraceptives to prevent a pregnancy. It is far better,in my opinion,to prevent a pregnancy, than it is to end one after it has been started. My fellow Americans,my brothers and sisters in Christ especially,it is incumbent upon us to stop this despicable practice. As a true Born Again Christian,I can not support anyone who feels it is the right of some to kill an innocent life for the sake of self preservation,or because they are ashamed of what they have done.Speaking as one who, before being saved, caused the death of an unborn child through abortion, the guilt I felt would not go away until I confessed my sin to the Lord Jesus Christ, and asked His forgiveness.
There is one more fact that I uncovered, that I was a little reluctant to print, but,It needs to be stated.Since 1973,there have been 13 million abortions of African Americans in this nation alone. My biggest question now becomes:Where is Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and all the other civil rights leaders, who favor abortion. Why are they not leading demonstrations on Washington D.C..I refuse to call these despicable men Reverends, they are not preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are preachers of a different gospel and a different Jesus. The Jesus of the Bible loves life and gives life to all who will repent and come to Him.He will turn no one away.
Life is a precious gift given by God,and only God has the right to chose who lives and who dies.I for one,can not,nor will I ever support any candidate that believes abortion should be legal.America has the blood of over 54 million souls on her hands and only God can turn this nation back to it's roots.Pray people, pray for national repentance and revival.God knows we need it!......love,pastor John
