Acts 1:9-11 New American Standard Bible9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight. 10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, 11 and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” These are my thoughts.
9 Jesus returned to the Father as He had promised and now it was up to us to be used to build His church, following the example He left us and being powered through the Holy Spirit and guided by scripture. Jesus left and will also return. 10 These men were probably angels and could likely be the two men in Revelation that are killed and left in the streets until they get back up to heaven in a like manner of Jesus here. In Revelation they come as witnesses for the return of Jesus but here they are used to prophesied that it will come. White clothing is often worn by holy men or angels. What is certain is they spoke for the Lord. 11 Jesus will return again. We see in scripture that He will return to the Mt of Olives splitting it. It is likely that because of His return being there that this happened at the Mt of Olives. We should expect Jesus to return but we have work to do in His name until that day comes.
