Acts 1:12-14 NASB
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. 13 When they had entered the city, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying, that is, Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. 14 All these were continually devoting themselves with one mind to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
These are my thoughts.
12 So they knew because Jesus had told them to wait for the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem. They of course would return to the upper room where the last supper was served. They of course may have not understood what was about to happen. We really cant fully see the effect we have through Christ on others, sometimes we may see apart and be blessed but often what we are used for Him will last for generations as it did with them. He still works today. 13 This is all the remaining eleven disciples gathered together. We find out what happened to Judas later in the chapter. We as the church our meant to come together. It is so easy for division to come in, we have to fight against strife by us coming together in the love of Christ. 14 The importance of prayer is shown here. They were waiting on the Holy Spirit but waited while praying together, this is where the church started to be built, in prayer. We need to pray together as the church. God hears our prayers and moves His Spirit to do His good will.
