Am I Ready?
Am I ready to meet The Lord? This is a question that I have begun to ponder. Concerning the time of His second coming who can say? Will it be at the rising of the sun, or will it be at the end of the day? I sometimes find myself recalling the challenging words of one older and wiser, a man upon whom life had taken its toll: “I am ready to meet my Lord, how is it with your soul?” At the time I failed to pay attention to the words that were meant to bring me to the place where I would make God a part of my life.
As we go through our daily lives, changes come in so many ways. The loss of loved ones and friends should bring one to the place where we take stock spiritually. So I ask myself the all important question's such as: "is my faith built on solid rock?" And again: "am I ready to stand before The Lord?" Finally: "when I die will my sins be forgiven or, must I face eternal separation from God?" The very thought of what that entails makes me shudder.
We each must make our choice, either live life on our own accord, or, - hear and obey God’s Word. The message of the Gospel clearly teaches of how Our Heavenly Father sent His Son, who made the way possible for reconciliation with our God. Through accepting Jesus sacrifice for my sins I am now ready to meet The Lord. It no longer matters when His coming will occur, or when I pass from this life because, things are now well with my soul. As the Scriptures say: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1
Today, let us thank our Heavenly Father for second chances. John Joseph Fox.
