“ Prophesy to Us Good Things”
It is with the greatest intrepidness that I speak boldly and declare the Word of the Lord, many are speaking by the unction of their own hearts and not by the Spirit of the Lord.
We live in a time of revealing, when things which have been hidden shall come forth, but not to the glory of fleshly prognostication or intuition, but to the glory of Godly revelation. So many are living in a false spirituality and not holding to the head “ Jesus Christ” of whom; as bible says his testimony is the spirit of prophecy ( Rev. 19:10 ).
Before we say “ Thus saith the Lord “, we should examine our prophetic utterance in light the whole counsel of God’s word, for every prophetic utterance should bring substance; a revealing of what is already allegoric or esoteric within the pages of scripture, or sola scriptura “ from scripture alone” is the proper way to prophesy the future events of this end time scenario.
I refuse to be a part of any prophetic decrees which are not supported by scripture in the context which it was inscribed by the writers of both testaments. Because it generates falsity whether it be faith or fear. False faith is just as dangerous or more dangerous than false fear. There are passages of scripture that are prophetic which have a twofold purpose and fulfillment, one for the time it was prophesied for the near future within days, months, or a few years from its utterance. Then the second fold is a future end time fulfillment, but; even the most highly venerated scholars don’t agree upon all the prophetic passages.
In my short existence in this Christian walk, I’ve experienced a lot of betrayal, and to tell the truth; I’ve also done some betraying when I was younger in the Lord. But, since I’ve started serving the Lord, betrayal seems to be far to much par for the course, and it makes it so hard to fight being cynical about life sometimes, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
But the greatest betrayal is when one prophesies from their heart instead of the Spirit. To be honest some prophesy to take advantage of or to control others in some form or fashion or to make a name for themselves as a prophet, but from what I’ve seen no one holds them accountable when their prophecies fail, and even gather to them again to hear more prophesies.
As a Spirit-filled Christian I believe in the gift and use of prophecy, as I do in all the gifts, but when prophecy fails to come to pass it is more damaging to the Church than edifying. The body of Christ loses people who would have come to church and received Christ, but because false prophecy is not reproved, those who do come go away hurt by its failure.
Brethren, I don’t despise prophecy, it is a wonderful assess of the body of Christ, but I do get righteously indignant when I see it being abused. When we prophesy, and I have before, we should be mature enough to allow others to judge it by Spirit and Truth, and then we should make a record of it, so when it comes to pass when know it was from God, but if it doesn’t come to pass, we should examine ourselves first to see if we are prophesying from our heart the next time we feel we have a Word of Prophecy for someone or something.
In other words whether we are the transmitter or the receiver, every good word is not necessarily a God word. Myself when someone prophesies or gives me a word if it isn’t confirmation, I put it on the shelf and pray about it. I don’t want to hear a good thing if it wasn’t a God thing! Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father, and will glorify God, so every good and perfect word will exalt God and ultimately add to the Kingdom of God. May God increase our understanding and our discernment each and everyday.

Apostle Ray
