A Body Unfocused:
So many are headed to hell thinking they are on the road to eternal rest. The tide of immorality, debauchery, and lawlessness is almost up to tsunami proportions while so many within the church are complacent, apathetic, and indifferent. The question that comes to mind is; why?
In the United States we’ve been blessed in the past with the abundance of wealth, and that wealth has become the entity so many worship today within the confines of the body of Christ. When one preaches a message which is benevolent oriented or targets sin in the body, or is disciplinary toward bringing spiritual growth instead of financial blessing the messenger and message are scorned by the so-called spiritual ones within the body of Christ.
Focus has gone from being souls winners, and pleasing God to self appeasement and wealth building. Do I believe God is a God of abundance who desires to bless his children? Yes! However, not at the expense of the primary goals of spiritual maturity and souls winning. When a person or group of people whom say they are Christian quit praying for ways to win the lost, and how they can be more pleasing to God; they cease to be Christian in essence.
Jesus is our example of what Christianity is suppose to be about. He came to give his life that others could be redeemed through his blood. We as Christians must focus upon being living sacrifices who give our lives to God by totally surrendering to his will, so that others may come to know Christ and be saved. The present day messages we see in our top tier or most visible leaders are messages that massage the flesh and pamper carnality. These messages are so inundated with lop-sided positive-ness that leaves little room for correction or discipline, which are necessary for true spiritual growth.
When one’s focus turns from being a soul kingdom builder to a wealth kingdom builder, or belonging to another social bless me club, they are missing the mark and have become a part of the problem, not the solution. These kind of clicks build anemic Christians who cannot cope when trying times come.
Now more than ever the gospel of Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance is needed coupled with follow up teaching on Soul Winning and the Principles that ground Christians upon a strong foundation of the Faith. All the fluff that presents itself as spiritually maturing preaching and teaching today does not accomplish producing strong Christian character of strong biblical churches. The foundation must be laid before one can enjoy the perks of being a child of the Most High.
In light of the way this present world is, in light of the political arena, and in light of the moral decline we see all around us, now is the time to examine ourselves, to see what motivates us, what we treasure the most in this life. If we are honest with ourselves we will allow the Holy Spirit of God to purge us of those things which are not pleasing to God, and humble ourselves to pursue his will through obeying his word to go into all the world to preach, teach, and witness the gospel.
So Friends & Brethren what are you focused on? An important question considering the times we live in. Its time to get our focus on what God desires for our lives.
Shalom & Agape!
