Jesus couldn’t do it! Huh?
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:57-58 KJV
There are so many things that we lack because of the lack of faith. You see faith is a condition on our part for God release a miracle. There are whole denominations today that are dedicated to doctrines of unbelief. They claim God doesn’t heal, that God doesn’t fill with the Holy Spirit, that God doesn’t have apostles and prophets today. Their whole belief system is based upon unbelief.
There are two distinctive points in these verses, first: a called person is scrutinized and doubted the most by those in their community and family. Second: the condition for miracles is total and complete faith.
Jesus was ran out of his own community and could not perform very many miracles because of unbelief. But was accepted by those outside of his community and because of that acceptance many were healed and set free from demonic powers. Then as time progressed he fulfilled the majority of the scriptures concerning his first appearance as the Savior, Healer, Deliverer, including be the Baptizer in the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost.
Every recipient of his blessings received their salvation or miracle or gift of the Holy Ghost by faith in Jesus and his claim that he was God incarnate. When we waiver in our faith in his ability, and we allow doubt to grow into unbelief, this will rob us of those things that God has promised in his word for our lives. When we press into a place of revelation, a place of intimacy, a place of communication, and a place of naked truth before the Lord. The fruit of our labor will be a supernatural impregnated faith that believes that what God has promised us in the secret place; he will reward us in an open place.
Brethren don’t do yourself an injustice by your unbelief, but do yourself a favor by fortifying your belief. Therefore keep the faith to trust God no matter what you see, but by what you know in your heart God has promised you in prayer. Jesus can’t do it, or won’t if you don’t meet the condition of faith to receive it.
Shalom & Agape!
