GUARD YOU HEART ( FOR OUT OF IT ARE THE ISSUES OF LIFE )
Compartmentalize: psychologist describe the human psyche’s ability to divide our belief systems into categories. For instance separating our politics from our religion, our compassion from our reason, our charity from our money, our desires from our consequences etc. etc.
Yet the word of God teaches us to integrate not separate, to combine not divide them with the premise of God’s word as how to conduct our lives in every area of life. Therefore there are several nuances of grace, law, and righteousness which are applied from the word of God.
This is called having a biblical world view. The essence of every issue in the world has a response and resolution in the word. God did not call us to a rule less righteousness, but to preside under his righteous rule.
To compartmentalize only brings people to a paradoxical reality which is contrary to God’s word and contradictory to their belief in God, which can be viewed as hypocrisy. A case in point, how can one who claims to be a Christian then support what the bible explicitly condemns.
How can one justify breaking the biblical rules of God’s righteousness with no remorse, and openly condone the abominable, while also declaring they are a Christian? How can one simultaneously praise God like this and also engage in committing the abominable at the same time.
Psychology is the study of the mind, its idiosyncrasies, its patterns, its emotional makeup, and its thought processes. Our societies have become co-dependent upon psychological analysis and perceive psychiatrists as the Pastors of this age. Although some tenets of this modern field of science may be true, it is still a feeble attempt by mankind to heal or truly understand the mind of man which was made by the Sovereign God.
The best remedy for what ails our minds is God’s righteousness. God’s word has principles, precepts, and procedures which will heal our hearts and minds through the regular application of them. It will help us to understand God’s will and how to integrate the right actions with the right mentality, and de-compartmentalize our belief systems ( those things we adhere to or trust are true ). Hence its about integration not compartmentalization. Hallelujah!
Our actions should always line up with our confession of faith, our concepts should be molded by the mind of God, not the mind of mere mankind. There is nothing that God’s power cannot heal, nothing that God’s words cannot bring clarity to, nothing that God’s love cannot overcome, if we allow him into our lives through humble submission.
Mind your heart, for if you do not, the devil will find fertile ground to sow seeds of division therein. For a double minded person becomes unstable in all their ways. We cannot afford to separate our sanity from our salvation, our spiritual life from our spiritual responsibilities as Christians.
Our biblical beliefs should transpire into our daily lives in every arena of our lives. Yes we are made for the complexities of life, but as Christians we should never compartmentalize or divide our biblical values from authenticating them through our words, actions, and deeds. In others words we should never say, act, or commit things that are contrary to God’s righteousness, then excuse ourselves with some philosophical jargon that we think justifies us.
To be antithetical is to be direct opposition, if we are Christian we should be antithetical to those things in the world that oppose the righteousness of God. Mere human philosophy, sentiment, or wisdom will never accomplish what the word of God can in our hearts, soul, and minds. God made man, then gave him an intellect that was superior to the creation around him. His wisdom was in man, there in the beginning, then it was contaminated by sin and has suffered ever since. But now, praise be to Jesus, we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds! Guard your Heart for out of it are the issues of life.
