SEEKING THE WILL OF GOD ( concerning solutions )
(12) Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, cultivate your own salvation with fear and trembling.
(13) For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
(14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings,
(15) so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world,
(16) holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain. Philippians 2:12-16 MKJV
One cannot defeat anything they deny exists, it is only when we acknowledge the validity of a problem, a disease, a dysfunction, a mentality, a sin, etc. etc. that we begin the process of overcoming it. However, the solution to all these may vary according to God’s will. So seeking God first in the process is a given in finding the proper solution or channels to find resolution.
Yes, God is still a miracle worker, he is still a healer, and still a deliverer, but he is also the author and finisher of our faith. Hence, we may be looking for God to move in one way, while God is actually going to move in another way. When we choose to demand from God how to resolve an issue, we may be inadvertently taking God’s place, and provoking our own defeat or demise.
Solutions are found in our humility, by asking, seeking, and knocking during private communication with our Lord, not through commanding, demanding, and directing him. When we come into his presence it should be with a humbled heart on bended knee, knowing that our God is infinite in his wisdom, almighty in his stature, and eternal in his love toward us, but above all He is God and we are Not. We make our request in the earnest of finding God’s will in resolving the situation, not in counseling God on how to bring us to victory. Scriptural Example:
(38) Then saith he to them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even to death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
(39) And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
(40) And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith to Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
(41) Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
(42) He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. Matthew 26:38-42 Webster
The resounding theme of this prayer was “ not my will, but your will be done “. Approaching God can be done in confidence, but never arrogance.
(15) For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted just as we are, yet without sin.
(16) Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 MKJV
We can never demand what he is unwilling to give or give at the time. We approach our God with reverence and but also with assurance, knowing he is willing to communicate and to guide us into his perfect will and then we will find the grace to sustain us while we wait upon him. In his mercy and grace there is peace to still our hearts and settle our minds until the answer manifests and we find victory.
(6) Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
(7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(8) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.
(9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9 Webster
Brethren keep the faith by seeking God’s perfect will in every circumstance and situation, for he will lead us in a way that brings glory unto himself and victory to us. Therefore we should never put what we perceive to be victory into the carnal mindset of the world who only views victory by one definition, for there are many definitions to what God calls victory and a difference of what our carnal minds call victory. In others we should never demand the stipulations of the answer, the manifestation, or the victory to satisfy our own will but ask God to answer, to manifest, or give us the victory according to his will. Amen! This has been a faith fact from a faith perspective.
