1 Timothy 1:18-20
KJV(i)18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: 20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. KJ2000(i)18 This charge I commit unto you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which were made concerning you, that you by them might war a good warfare; 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made it shipwreck: 20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
These are my thoughts please share yours.
18 We try to please the people we serve but first hold true to the word. We should let what people want stop us from doing what God wants from us.
19 We got to be strong in faith because it is easier to do what the people want but it is hard to do want God wants when there is few supporting you. God will be with us and we need to trust Him in all He asks us to do.
20 If willing fall back into sin the Lord at a point will let us sin and we will grow to hate sin again because the pleasures of sin only last for a season then we will come back to the Lord and may be stronger in faith then than before. I would rather continue seeking God than seeking after sin.
God is my authority.
