LIVE & LEARN ( LEARNING NEVER STOPS )
You cannot reason with emotional fury, I remember when I was reprimanded when my emotions got the better of me because I had overrode my spiritual sense. Emotions are emissions of the mind and were given to us for our benefit, but allowing them to override our spirit man is treading into dangerous territory which is detrimental; not enhancing. Emotions can intoxicate us and foul our judgment.
(1) I plead with you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present all your faculties to Him as a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to Him. This with you will be an act of reasonable worship.
(2) And do not follow the customs of the present age, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your minds, so that you may learn by experience what God's will is--that will which is good and beautiful and perfect.
(3) For through the authority graciously given to me I warn every individual among you not to value himself unduly, but to cultivate sobriety of judgment in accordance with the amount of faith which God has allotted to each one. Romans 12:1-3 WNT
This is where balance comes into context concerning our reaction or response to a circumstance or a situation. A reaction is usually an emotional emission to a situation based upon a carnal foundation, but a response with reason is usually a spiritual reply based upon a biblical foundation. As Christians we cannot allow our emotions to intoxicate and poison us with fleshly reactions, but to the contrary, we must cultivate sobriety into our responses to the tragedies, travesties, and controversies of life.
Brethren keep the faith today by trusting in the wisdom of God not the wisdom of man which is perverted by sin. God’s wisdom is transforming while man’s wisdom is deforming. Mankind is made up of imperfect people exalting themselves by their own interest, the truth is they will always be void, but the body of Christ is made up of imperfect people being transformed into the image of Christ more and more with each passing day as they strive to enter into the straight gate and narrow way that leads to life eternal.
Shalom & Agape!
