MISS TAKES & RE TAKES?
“ For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again, but the wicked stumble under adversity. Proverbs 24:16
God has so graced us in this dispensation that one who follows Christ from the disposition of a pure heart with pure intent, may find themselves making the same mistake over and over, but is granted a retake through the mercy of God. Notice that there are prerequisites to being granted a retake from the mess of a mistake, it is a whole hearted fear of the Lord, the wicked of this world are not as fortunate in that they stumble under the pressure of adversity to their destruction. But the truly righteous are empower and fortified with the Spirit of God, the Grace of God, and the Knowledge of God to stand up again, knock the dust off, and proceed with wisdom.
(2) To know wisdom and instruction; to comprehend the words of understanding;
(3) To receive the discipline of wisdom, justice, and right, and equity;
(4) To give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion;
(5) That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning, and the man of understanding may attain unto wise counsels;
(6) To understand a proverb, and a figure; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
(7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and discipline.
Proverbs 1:2-7 JPS
There are many times we all have fallen from our steadfastness, we somehow allow ourselves to be distracted, and even overcome by a temptation in a moment of weakness, or entertained thoughts of giving up altogether. At times it seems our prayers are more like a misfire than sure fire, and we miss the mark by a mile. But I would say unto you today, God seen that day of mishap, misdeed, and mistake long before it ever happened to you and prepare a way of escape so that he could reinstate you when you repent and ask for a retake. He doesn’t retry you so he can fry you, but he forgives you so he re-bless you. God knows your heart when others misjudge you, God knows your walk when other misconstrue you, and God knows your future when others misinterpret you.
If it’s truly a mistake, misstep, or misjudgment then we can have a retake, relief, and reliance!
(5) This then is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
(6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
(7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
(8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:5-9 Webster
Brethren, Keep the Faith today by purposing in your hearts to acquire the wisdom, the fire, and the desire to serve without sinning. Don’t take God’s grace for granted, the bibles teaches us about apostasy, one can walk away from God by embracing other gods and false teachers. Purpose in your heart to be true to the only true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and to His Son; Jesus the Messiah. Selah!
