The Light
When it came to religious blindness, because of the un-teachable mind of the religiously inclined superficial hypocrisy of the self imposed self exaltation because of those convictions, Jesus had this to say to those kinds of people “ Let the blind lead the blind and they shall both fall into the ditch “. Why? Because of the impartation of a agent within each human called “ free will “. Those who have their minds made up are not truly open to reason, because they have closed their minds to any suggestion they may be wrong in their “ belief system “ therefore they will argue the point veraciously and deny the truth.
Prayer is the key in opening up a mind to reason, because prayer gives God the reins to steer a person to question their faith, and to begin to see the flaws, deceptions, or misconceptions of that faith or belief system. When God begins the process of conviction in a heart, that person begins to earnestly and honestly seek answers, they begin to ask questions with an open mind. I have argued with a multitude of people of different faiths over the younger years of my walk with Christ. I tried with scripture and reason to change minds that would not change even though scriptural presentation was accurate, precise, and to the point.
Paul admonished Titus in the second chapter, no doubt having heard the words which Jesus had reportedly said through is peers who heard them personally, Let the blind lead the blind; he ( Paul ) told Titus to avoid foolish questions and then said in verses 10 - 11 “ A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject; knowing that he is that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself “.
This applies to all forms of heresy, you cannot separate what a person believes and participates in when it comes to heresy, either you are walking in the light as Christ is in the Light or you’re walking in darkness.
It is only when one realizes they’re living in error, and want to walk in truth will their minds be receptive to the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Selah!
