I am so excited. I just received a new Bible I ordered weeks ago. Shipping to Alaska can be spotty. My patience was running thin.
Two years ago, I attended the Shepherd's Conference. (I encourage all Christian men to attend.) While there, I perused the excellently priced books and decided to buy a quality Bible. I have used a lot of programs and apps. I have a high quality KJV, but rarely use it. I prefer the ESV.
Fast forward to this past summer. I went salmon fishing with good friends. We stayed in an RV at a campground and took out a boat everyday for a week. One night, I finished my Scripture reading and set my Bible by my side. It rained that night. The window above my Bible was leaky. My Bible was soaked through. The binding was severely damaged. Some pages are permanently stuck together.
Right away, I bought a waterproof Bible from Bardin-Marsee. Great item. It resists even biological fluids (as Fire/EMS I gotta be sure.) But it is smallish print.
So I shopped around. I wanted a high quality, 2 column, reference Bible (not study Bible - I want just the word and not opinion for my personal worship), leather, ESV. I found a link to a great website. The Bibles were very nice and the cost reflected that. One version included the ecumenical creeds and the major confessions of faith. So I purchased a Schuyler ESV.
I can't really express how magnificent the quality truly is. It was $200 and some after having my name embossed. I have printed a new Bible reading schedule so I can read, underline and notate this copy.
I hope that such an investment may mean a long useful lifespan for the Bible. I would love to leave it to a child or grandchild someday.
Anyway...I don't work for them and get zero compensation. They have many versions and types. Check out evangelicalbible.com if you happen to be in the market for a higher quality Bible.
