May the Lord richly bless you all;may He keep you in the hollow of His hand, keeping watch over you both night and day.Pray that we are not caught off gaurd in the day of His visitation, but that we would always be ready and waiting and most of all watching, just as a loving child would watch and wait for their father to return home from a far journey.
Proverbs is one of my favorite books in the Scriptures, although it's really difficult to pick a favorite book,it's all the word of God!Proverbs is loaded down with wisdom and common sense advise on how we should live our lives in this ungodly and dying world.
For example:Proverbs 16:5 says,"Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD;though they join forces, none will go unpunished." The type of pride spoken of here is not the type of pride one would have of,say,a child who does well in school,or of a son or daughter who is doing well in life,or of achieving a goal in life. But it is speaking of the type of pride that prevents a person from recognizing their absolute need for the Saviour. The pride of life, which was one of the three sins that caused the fall of man in the garden,is the type of pride that will blind the eyes of all who allow it to blind them.We sometimes get caught up in all the pride that goes with living as though we are something great and deserve the best life possible.
I have no problem with having good things and doing well in life, these are definitely blessings, but it's how we handle those blessings.Often times when fame, fortune and great blessings come to people, they begin to change the way they think about themselves. They become untouchable, haughty, high minded, affluent, powerful, arrogant because money does change people. It's as if they think it's because of their own doings that they have achieved all these things. To some extent this is true, but, all blessings come from the Lord, and where there are great blessings there is also great responsibility as well.
It has long been the desire of Satan to be God,however, that will never happen. But this does not stop him from using the blessings of the Lord in a person's life to lead them astray.Though the wicked have tried all through history to irradicate anything that has anything to do with God,they have never been successful, and they never will be.This verse of Scripture tells us that there is coming a day when all wickedness will be done away with including those who commit the wickedness. They can join all their forces together, they can even have all the demons in hell join with them, they can pour all their wealth into trying to overthrow The King of Heaven, and they still will not be able to conquer the Lord Jesus Christ. He won the victory once and for all at Calvary, then He rose from the dead and won the victory over death, hell and the grave, for all who will trust in Him and commit their ways to Him.There is coming a day when all will receive their just rewards:The wicked shall be turned into Hell and all the nations that forget God,the righteous, through the righteousness and blood of Christ alone, will enter the joy of the Lord for eternity, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.Hallelujah!
I am looking for that blessed day,are you? I pray that you are!...Thank you...JW
