Does Jesus have a straight path to your heart?

Discipleship the Way Jesus Did It
Matthew 3 (part3)
Grace Ministries Facebook Bible Study had taken a little break from the Matthew study to focus and reflect on the work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and in the resurrection. My reflection on His work brought me and I hope you to the conclusion that our God is all glorious. He is Love through and through. Our God hung on that cross and incurred His own wrath for our sins against Him. Thank you, God! Thank you for loving us so.
As we resume our study in the book of Matthew, I would I like to remind everyone that we are observing Jesus’ life, because He is our example. What He did we as His disciples should be doing. We are being transformed into the image of our Lord. This transformation takes place as we observe and do as He did and as we adhere to His teachings.
We are picking up our study at verse six of Matthew three.
To get a good understanding of verse six we need to take a step back. John’s message, his cry to the people of that day was “Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” and “Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” When John cried “Prepare ye the way of the Lord” what was it that needed to be prepared? It was the hearts of the people. John was saying prepare your hearts to receive the Lord Jesus. In preparing your heart you have given Him straight paths to your heart and to your life. Does Jesus have a straight path to your heart?
“And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.”
What was it that prepared the hearts of the people for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? Their hearts were prepared by their obedience to the mandate given to John by God and by their willingness to openly confess their sins. Jesus is coming back again. How are we to prepare for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? The instruction from our God has not changed. We are to prepare for His coming by being obedient to His word and by keeping your heart clear, confessing our sins. Jesus is coming again and as John cried out to the people of his day, I cry out to you my brothers and sisters “Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand…Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”
