“…BEHOLD ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW”
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
When you give your life to Christ, you are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13), not only that, you are also “…recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew]…” (Ephesians 2:10, AMP). Now, when you’re recreated in Christ Jesus, you don’t remain the same person you used to be, you become a new person altogether- a new species of being. That’s why our opening scripture says you are a new creature.
As a new creature, you have no past. "Old things are passed away." Those old things such as bondage, fear, sin, lack, sickness, weakness, failure and death are all gone. You say, "That is not possible." But it is, you are a new creation inwardly, it doesn’t say “you are like a new creature” or “you will be a new creature when you get to heaven”, this is no promise, it is a present hour reality, you are a new creature now. The trouble is you haven’t seen that all things are become new.
It says, “Behold (see)” that all things are become new. Behold (See) that you’re no longer that one that used to be in bondage, for the Father has delivered you out of the domain of darkness and has brought you into the kingdom of His dear Son (Colossians 1:13); behold (see) that you’re not a sicklier anymore, for by the strips of Jesus you were healed, therefore, you’re the healed of God (1 Peter 2:24); behold (see) you’re not a sinner anymore, God made Christ to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him, therefore, you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21); behold (see) you are not poor anymore, though He was rich Christ became poor for our sack, that through His poverty we might be rich, so you are rich (2 Corinthians 8:9) and all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21); behold you’re not that one that was cursed, for you have been called that you might inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9) and you’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). Can you see it? Until you start seeing you may never live accordingly.
That is why God has given us His word; the mirror for our spirit: it shows us who we are, what we have, and what we can do. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says as we look into that mirror, we are changed into what we see from glory to glory. It is as we look that we are changed.
You’re a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things are become new. From today, start seeing yourself the way God sees you. Use that mirror (the word of God) as you do, you’ll start heaping up success upon success, victory upon victory, increase upon increase, grace upon grace and your life will be a continuous marvel to those who see you. You’ll be a wonder for life, halleluiah!
