MULTITUDES AND DISCIPLES
"Then Jesus called HIS DISCIPLES UNTO HIM and said I have compassion on THE MULTITUDE..." Matthew 15:32
Jesus had two groups of people He ministered to - disciples and the multitude. And am curious to know: Are you a disciple or you're among the multitude? Let me help you answer the question by showing you some differences between the two:
* Disciples take instructions and act on them, while the multitude take instruction as suggestions and will only act on them whenever they want to.
*Disciples take rebuke and grow, while the multitude take offence at rebuke and leave.
*Disciples have a teacher, a spiritual leader - a spiritual father, while the multitude are nomadic-spiritual orphans. Discples are healthy and strong because they have a balanced spiritual diet, while most of the multitude are sick, weak and timid because they eat from every table - 77 % from wrong tables.
*Multitudes move from church to church, disciples stay to build the church.
* Multitudes are looking for the perfect church. You could spend a lifetime searching for the perfect church but you'd never find it. Furthermore, if you joined it, it wouldn't be perfect anymore. The church is not for perfect people, it is for perfecting people. Never forget that!
*Multitudes are church attenders, while disciples are church members. The difference between a church attender and a church member is - commitment. Attenders are consumers; members are contributors. Attenders want the benefits without any responsibility or accountability. They're like couples who want to live together without committing themselves to a lifetime of marriage.
Move from multitude to a disciple. Become serious with your walk with the Lord - become more than a church attender. Make the commitment. Glorious things come to those who are committed to the Lord. Commit yourself to the Lord, to His church and to the work of the Lord and He'll establish you.
Wise up and be a disciple!
