Appearances
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. (Proverbs 16:17-20 KJV) When a Christian gets caught up in the “ cosmos “ the appearance or pride of the world. They begin to take up the persona of the world’s attitude. The next thing they unknowingly do is begin to view themselves as superior and the result of this is “ism’s” an unbiblical cast of degrees of believers. It is much better to have a righteous attitude, one that is humble in the sight of God and man. Righteousness is a dynamic which comes with a line of demarcation, which exalts God. Because it causes us to be appreciative of the blessings of the Lord, not the puffing us up basing it upon our own abilities. Every good and perfect gift come from God, blessing and favor should never be taken for granted or used to exalt ourselves and or belittle others. This is when the pride of life will lead us into destruction because of the haughty spirit which accompanies it. Selah! Shalom, Agape, & Amen! D.R. Ritchie
