Many of the choir members in this video were part of my Junior class at Bible college. The lead singer, Ricky Birkett, was from the Freshman class. Ricky had a powerful anointing on him and he often came with my group (the nursing home ministry team) to speak and minister in song at the Sunday services we held for the residents in the day room of the nursing home. I remember many times feeling the awesome presence of the Holy Spirit filling the room and I would sob tears of pure joy when Ricky and the choir ministered during our daily chapel time and at Zion Gospel Temple. These kids weren't playing church - they were warriors in training. Sadly, I have learned that brother Ricky had a very rare form of Cancer and went home to be with the Lord a few years ago. I don't pretend to know the mind of God, I would have loved for him to stay. It seemed there was so much for him to do yet and he had a wife and young ones depending upon him. We cannot, however, second guess the Master of the Universe, we can only trust He has a plan, may "His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven." I'll see my brother again one day, hear his gentle voice and see his sweet smile. Not the best recording, but even so, I can still feel the hair standing up on my arms and the tears welling up in my eyes when I listen to the words of The Midnight Cry...

This video was, I believe, a choir rehearsal recorded in the school auditorium. Amen! That's really lovely!
