I was reading Matthew and came across verse 24:4-12 and was wondering if this could be were we are now. It seems real relevant to whats going on now.
Matthew 24:4-12King James Version (KJV)
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Could this be correct as far as our placement today?

We could be, but the Scripture does not give us precise dates. Every generation has had teachers that feel as if they are in the very last of days. Without a doubt, every day brings us another day closer. So in a sense, I believe we are, but just beginning as it were.
I believe that when these verses are come in their full, no one will wonder if we are there, it will be painfully obvious that we are deep into the prophecy of this passage.
TL/DR: yes, but not very far into it yet

Good find les, that article pretty much covers everything that I could tell you about the end times. Awhile ago the Lord laid it on my heart to study the Day of the Lord and I learned many interesting things! Arete is correct and incorrect at the same time. Every generation has had it's share of 'prophets' who declare that we are living in the last generation. However, what everyone of them failed to realize was the importance of Israel to God's over all plan. We Christians like to think we are now God's chosen people, and, in a way, we are. Unfortunately, we are only adopted in to that family. Israel is still the Lord's chosen people, and that will become even more apparent as the end progresses. We are living in the season of the Lord's Return. The Middle East is gearing up for a war, there are so many plagues and famines (Ebola - who would have thunk?!), and even the technology for the mark of the beast is already being used. But I also do agree that it will get MUCH worse before the end. I don't plan on seeing the worst, for I will be dining with the Lord at the Marriage Supper.
