What's the point of witnessing? The answer to questions like this one, from the Calvinist point of view is based in God's sovereignty. First, we do it because he commanded it; the first and best reason for the creature to do anything. Second, because God both decreed the elect and the means by which he would draw the elect to himself.
The arguments he presented contrary to Calvinism are classically Once Saved Always Saved Baptist responses (which many Calvinists view as inherently Arminian). The humorous thing is that to be Baptist has historically meant to be Calvinist. The SBC has always been a traditionally Calvinistic denomination until the last few decades and is now sweeping back toward their origin.
The funny thing is that his conclusion is completely keeping with Calvinism. We don't know how God determined the elect. But the God who decreed the elect also decreed the means by which the elect are drawn to him - the declaration of the Gospel. The word never returning void is a foundational passage to why Calvinists believe that the declaration of Scripture is always profitable.
