Hi to all in the blessed name of Jesus Christ,King of kings and Lord of lords.The Lily of the valley,The Bright and Morning Star,The Rose of Sharon,The Lamb of God and The Living Word,Amen and Amen.
The reason for giving my testimony over the past few days was not to draw attention to myself,but to draw attention to God and His grace and mercy in the lives of those who will seek Him.I am nothing,I am the least of all men.If you ever meet me and forget me you've lost absolutely nothing,but if you meet Jesus and forget Him,you've lost absolutely everything.
The reason for sharing with you my life's experience is two-fold. 1.) To lift up the name of Jesus,and 2.) To help others to know of a surity that what happened to the early church on the Day of Pentecost,is still available to those who want more and know deep in their heart that there must be more to their walk than what they currently have.
Ever since the Holy Spirit was poured out that day on the early church in the Upper Room,there have been scoffers and those who are opposed to what God wants to do in the life of those who want to do the will of the Lord.In Luke 24:49,Jesus said "Behold,I send the promise of My Father upon you;but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." Luke also records in Acts 1:8 the words of Jesus as "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem,and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth."
There have been many times in my experience over the years,when unbelieving christians with good intentions,I'm sure,who have mimicked the words of others,some who were preachers,that the Baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues,was of the devil.As a matter of fact,just a few days ago,I was told that because it happened to me,I have a false conversion and am not a christian in reality.Well,all I can say is praise Jesus!The same type of unbelievers told the Lord Himself,that He did the miracles that He did by the power of Satan.It was at that time that Jesus gave the religious leaders the teaching of the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit as the unforgiveable sin.
When I received the Baptism in the Spirit,a number of things took place in my life that could never,by the stretch of anyone's imagination,be construed as coming from the enemy of my soul:
1.) Deliverence from cigarette smoking.A sin which is trapping many of God's people today and destroying there bodies,which is the temple of God (I Cor.3:16-17).
2.) Boldness to speak the word of God,regardless of whom it may offend.Almost every time that a person is offended by the word of God,it's because they are holding on to things that they are convicted by the Spirit to let go of.
3.) A deeper understanding of the word of God.This does not mean that I know everything as it regards the Bible,but it does mean that alot of the things we do not understand in the scriptures,becomes clearer when we have received the Spirit Baptism.
4.) A keener awareness of the Holy Spirit working in our lives.We become more aware of sin in our lives and a clearer hatred of sin.I found in my life that all I wanted to do is get closer to God and to be rid of all sin,once and for all.
5.) A deeper desire to share the Gospel of Christ with everyone you come in contact with.This characteristic leads many,especially those who are unconverted,to the belief that we are trying to cram Jesus down their throat,when in reality the Holy Spirit brings them conviction because of unrepented sin.This is the job of the Spirit (John 16:5-15)
These are just a few things that I've experienced over the years in my life,that let me know that those who reject the Baptism in the Spirit with speaking in tongues,have been misled and misinformed as to it's validity for every believer,for it truly is for as many as the Lord our God shall call to salvation (Acts 2:39).
If it is from the devil,as many believe,then it's the only thing that I know of that the devil has,that makes you love Jesus Christ more and hate sin with a passion,it's the only thing he has that makes you want to shout the praises of God and tell everyone about Jesus.Which seems a little counter-productive to his desire to keeping us bound up in sin and death
No, the reality of it is,is that it is for today,for those who will seek it and desire it more than life itself.Jesus said to hunger and thirst for it and we would be filled to overflowing....Thank you for your time.......God bless you all........JW
