GOD OF DELIVERANCE
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. Psalms 34:19
The preacher who preaches that we will never face afflictions during this earthly journey needs to read the book again with an open heart. Especially when they say that all those whom are going through things is because of gross sin in their lives, when nothing could be further from the truth. The theme for the godly is set out before all through the scriptures, which empathetically declares many are the afflictions of the righteous!
Why is it when a brother or sister is going through something, the first response is that of negativity. “ Something must be wrong in their lives “ is the usually observation instead of empathy they receive accusation adding to the affliction. Even Jesus came to his own and they received him not, those whom were religious leaders could not bear the thought of an upstart drawing so many people away from them the true leaders of the people. So they set out to destroy him through false accusations and allegations of breaking the religious law of the land. The nature of those threatened by others who are favored by the pure in heart are the targets of the same ridicule and repugnance of those whom are self righteous today, nothing has changed. Praise God that the righteous of the Lord are still in his favor and he will deliver them, he is well aware of their dilemmas.
(15) The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
(16) The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
(17) The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
(18) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.
(19) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
(20) He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.
(21) Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
(22) The LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Psalms 34:15-22
As I prayed for others and for myself and family requesting of God that he would show himself strong in the midst of his people and to the world at large, I take comfort in the fact that his eyes and ears are open to my crying, that God is my shield and buckler, he is my strong high tower, and that he is my defender and deliverer. For through the many afflictions I’ve faced he has always delivered me. His word is “ I am the Lord that thy God and I change not “. He orders the steps of the righteous and prepares the way before them, and all things work for the good of those who love him and are called by Him for His purposes.
Brethren; let us walk in the ways of the Lord, let us rejoice and be glad in Him, for his word declares “ for the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. “ He has a plan for each us if we will submit our ways unto him and trust in him with all our heart, and he shall bring it to pass. Let us be mindful of his presence not only in joyful; but also painful circumstances. Remember the Lord is close to those whom are broken hearted, and those whom have a spirit of contrition. Therefore we must humble ourselves, decrease so he can increase, and he shall prevail in and through us at the appointed time.
Keep the Faith and the Faith will keep You, Selah!
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
