DO YOU EVER CONTEMPLATE?
Yesterday on my prayer hike, I really contemplated many things which I spoke to my Heavenly Father about.
With all that is happening which is made known to us in a matter of minutes from the time it happens because of technology today. We are more informed about the status of life around the globe. Within moments we know what was said or done in another country. The prophetic times of the last days seem surely at hand, and yet many seen to be deaf and dumb concerning the urgency of the hour. This was some of my contemplation yesterday. Why?
Because I see before me a crooked and perverse generation globally that not even remotely concerned about the coming of the Lord and what it entails for the sinner. One thing I truly persisted upon was the contemplation of my own salvation and be worthy to escape all that is to come whether it be by the grave or by a rapture. I sometimes battle with my weakness and judge myself unworthy or unfit to be in heaven with my God. So, I reason with the Lord and petition him for overcoming power in those areas.
I read in the first book of Peter where that judgment will indeed begin with the House of God ( those who claim rebirth through Christ’s sacrifice ). I also read in the second book of Corinthians where we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account for what we as Christians have done whether it be good or bad, ( the word for bad in the Greek means wicked, worthless, depraved ). The to me does not denote an automatic forgiveness of every sin committed after our rebirth. But it does define accountability.
Why does the word exhort us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling if there is no reason or cause for pause concerning it. Anyhow, it was one of the things which I contemplated, also another thing I contemplated was the fact that Jesus and others in the bible use certain scriptures out of their context, especially many of the scriptures which deal with the deity of Christ and the manifestation of the messiah. We accept those scriptures whole heartedly out of the original context and yet when someone uses a scripture out of context today to bring home a point the church police rise up in groves to condemn that person. Although I agree that contextual exhortation is the usually the wisest way to expound the truth of the gospel, I sometimes find that a scripture may hold truth contextually but can have another application. If does not contradict the scriptures if it holds up to the whole counsel of God’s word concerning the application.
One of my contemplations was the ailing of the body of Christ, and the many brethren I know or know of whom are undergoing the process of the spiritual walk, whom are hurting emotionally, whom are wondering aimlessly, whom are dying of disease, whom are be confronted and abused by loved one, I prayed for brethren going through trials, temptations, and tribulations. I wept profusely over sins, over lukewarm-ness, over spiritual blindness, and over the apathy of this age. I prayed seriously and sincerely for dear brethren and thought to myself if only I could do more and sometimes how limited many of us are.
But finally and most importantly I put it all in God’s hands, and vowed to do what I could in obedience to his unction, and his call upon my life. I want to obey him was my conclusion, I want to please him and be what he has called to be in him. As I ended my prayer hike and could see my Jeep in the distance, I thought to myself and then ask once again: Father please empower me with your supernatural ability to overcome; because in and of my own self and strength I can never accomplish this! So again I ask do you ever contemplate? Selah!
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
