GOD OF LIGHT
The reality of spiritual life is that it is a spiritual dynamic which can effect the physical realm. God is a Spirit and we must leave the consciousness of the physical to enter into the Holy of Holies for spiritual communion with the Heavenly Father. God is light and in him is no darkness at all, therefore we must transcend the natural to enter into the supernatural.
On one of my journey’s I seen three Jews, a Rabbi and two of his disciples at an airport in Europe. The Rabbi had his prayer shawl draped over himself and phylacteries braced on his arms and head for prayer. We were in a very public place so he turned to the wall he was standing by to begin his prayers. In others words he just entered into his prayer closet to pray to God.
The lessen I learned was the resounding of the scripture “pray without ceasing” and “ when you pray in secret God will reward you openly”. Even though the Rabbi was in a very public place he pushed everything out of his mind so that he could enter into his closet without hindrance of the earthly commotion around him.
Therefore we must learn in our own lives the key to prayer is the ability to push through the hindrances of the flesh, emotion, thoughts that detour us, and anything thing that keeps us bound to the earth while communicating with our Heavenly Father. Prayer is a spiritual thing, a two way communication that edifies the Child of God while worshipping and petitioning the object of our adoration, faith, and love. When we transcend this earth and enter into his presence, we are infused with the light and life of his love. We sense by the spirit and not the flesh the realness of the moment. We are quickened with the light of his power to sustain us spiritually which sustains us physically and mentally to endure the hardships of this presence age.
Jesus said; “ I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life “. John 8:12
I know from personal experience the importance of abandoning the realm of carnal reason and embracing the realm of spiritual insight which is spiritual discernment and comprehension of accessing the mind of Christ to deal with the present realities that confront us daily in this life. I have watched the application of the information that I gained in prayer by listening to my Heavenly Father to overcome the adversities of this life. I have watched my God go before me to make crooked places straighten out for my benefit because of my obedience. I think this Psalm sums it up very good concerning Christian duty, worship, and obedience.
(3) Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
(4) Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
(5) Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
(6) And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
(7) Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
(8) Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
(9) For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Psalms 37:3-9 KJV
When we serve the Lord in the Spirit our desires will line up with the Word, and be Godly and within the context of the will of God for our lives. We will be doers of the Word and not Hearers Only! We are all called to Worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth, when we commit ourselves to do this, we will find an unadulterated faith that transforms us by the renewing of our minds. When we have a personal relationship, it will yield the intricacies of our walk with God and his will for our particular lives. Prayer that forsakes everything to enter into his presence, is prayer that will yield everything we need to accomplish the will of God for our lives. Selah!
