HAPPY IS THE PERSON:
I am so pleased today with my Lord, he has brought me through so much in my life.
“ We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28
This scripture may be one of the most quoted scriptures when it comes to those times we face trial, temptation, and persecution. But the fact remains the verse rings true because it is God breathed.
One thing I have found to be profound, is that no matter what the adversity may be, it somehow works into our good, even when we fall short, that works for our good, why? Because God is looking at our heart, the innermost of our being, am I saying he excuses sin in our lives; especially willful sin, the answer is an emphatic no! God sees our heart, he knows exactly how much we love him.
He knows how hard falling short is upon those who are striving to enter in at the straight but wrestle with their own short comings. Grace to some means that I can sin all I want to and go to heaven too, but what Grace does is change our point of view concerning sin. Those that love God are not perfect by any means, but striving for perfection or the maturity of spirit to serve God in righteousness. Anyone whom has truly been saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost does not strive to willfully sin, but to abstain from it.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1 KJV
However when one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus our intercessor to intercede on our behalf. So our purpose as believers and followers of Christ is to fix our focus upon; not sinning as little as possible, but not sinning at all. If there is no problem with sin concerning believers, then why would the Apostle an anointed vessel whom walked with Jesus who was a recipient of Grace and filled with the Spirit on the day of Pentecost say in a letter to a house church, “ these things I write unto you that ye sin not “.
SIN DOES SEVEN THINGS TO OUR RELATIONSHIP CONCERNING SALVATION:
1. God is a holy God: Sin is contrary to His nature, to His perfection, to His supremacy.
2. We should not sin, because Jesus by whom we hope to reach eternal bliss hates sin. It dishonors Him.
3. Sin grieves and quenches the Holy Spirit.
4. Willful Sin indulged: inputs the soul into everlasting ruin.
5. Unrepentant sin is certain to diminish the glorious reward which remains for those who serve Christ.
6. Sin separates ourselves from communion with Him altogether while the sin lasts.
7. When we sin against God we sin against our brethren too, because it is almost certain that our own sins will involve others in our guilt and lead them to sin too.
Some declare that sin was dealt with at Calvary and therefore my sins are forgiven past, present, and future. If this were true, then why is sin dealt with so often in scripture. Was scripture written for unbelievers to study, and to hide in the hearts, so they might not sin against God. I am sure the bible both Old and New Testaments were written for believers, why? Because the gospel is hidden to those who don’t know God lest they believe and receive the marvelous news of salvation through Christ Jesus. Those of us whom understand the Lord, have come to know that we are still in a human body that does not want to conform to the Word of God. But also have come to know that God gave us his Word and Sprit to bring correction to bring us into spiritual perfection.
Pro 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
Pro 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Pro 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Some will argue that if one continues to fall short after they’ve been saved, they were not saved to begin with. But let me ask; does a new born baby automatically begin to feed itself or walk, or bath itself. So let us remember, “ We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” . As we strive to walk in righteousness we will discern the leading of the Lord, his love, his wisdom, and when needed his chastening. Selah
