REFLECTION
I’ve come a long way since I was a young man. I intend to go a long way more as I grow older. The plan, the hope, and the desire to do this resides in the person of Jesus Christ. Let me ask; where does your drive for life spring from? Let me say this as I heard it years ago, “ those things you attend to; are the things you intend to do “. In other words it is actions not words that ultimately define us to others.
Notwithstanding there are things we intend to do, but because of life’s different turns and twists, we may not be able to engage them at certain times. But, a detour is a detour which only distracts us for a while, if one is purposed in their own heart to reach a goal, and it is in the perfect will and context of God for that one’s life, it will come to fruition through much business and sometimes painful effort.
Brethren, Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our Faith! That speaks volumes to me; it means I will accept all the potential he sees for my life and the lives of others. That potential has enabled me to see pass the veil of religiosity and seefrom the perspective of true spirituality that sets the captive free.
(17) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
(18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2nd Corinthians 3:17-18 KJV
The path of righteousness is the path of process, the path of progress, and the path of transformation. It is the molding of the inner man into the image of Christ then successfully reflecting that image to others. This liberty in Christ is a journey which takes us from one plateau of faith to a higher plateau, then from one plateau of glory to another plateau of glory. If we abide in Him and He abides in us.
(1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 KJV
One of the greatest desires I have is to see people of the faith, worship the God of the faith in Spirit and Truth. To obtain all that God has for them and to see them conquer all the enemies of the faith which come to steal, kill, and destroy all that God has for them. It takes the whole gospel to construct a life of liberty, one that is not easily entangled again with a yoke of bondage hindering them from achieving all the potential God sees in them. Therefore if one desires the liberty that is in and through Christ, they must adhere to principles, precepts, and protocols of Christ in order to have and maintain it.
Jesus loves you, isn’t that a wonderful start to a relationship. He loves you with every flaw, every imperfection, every unseemly thing about you, but can’t help you until you repent of your sins, then ask him to come into your heart and be your Lord. Why? It’s simple; if he is not Lord of all in your life, he’s not Lord at all in your life. A relationship with Jesus means surrendering all to him, and allowing him to mold you into his own image using the gifts and talents he has already given you.
Brethren I’ve come to realize that what I reflect to God and others is a direct result of the transforming power of the Word and Spirit of God given free course to do its work in and through me. It is not always easy, but it is always rewarding in the fact that I become a better me, because I become more like him. You have potential to become everything that God has called you to be, you have the intellect, the gifts, the talents, and the Lord who provides in due season. Selah!
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
