Numbers 19:6-8 King James Version (KJV)
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
Numbers 19:6-8 World English Bible (WEB)
6 The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer. 7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening. 8 He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
6 Cedar is often times used with cooking today because of the scent when it burns. This was the bullock, the red heifer mentioned earlier.
7 The priest would do special bathing for the sacrifice to set himself apart, make him holy for him to be able to give the heifer up to the Lord.
8 He would burn the clothes he wore they would been seen as unclean, this showed that man was not worthy to give sacrifice to the Lord and points to our need for God to send a sacrifice for us being Jesus.
