Daily Triumph - intro
The name “Daniel” prompts images of lions’ dens, fiery furnaces, mysterious wall writings, and even diets. While those are the milemarkers of a unique life, the overarching message of Daniel’s days is this: how to live a life of faith in an increasingly faithless world.
Not only did Daniel maintain his faith in an ancient culture, he is a model for us and our world today. Transported from Jerusalem to Babylon, a city of his heritage to a city of unbelief, he not only survived, he thrived. In this series, we’ll examine what Daniel knew that we need to know in order to do the same.
Daniel lived an uncompromising faith in the midst of a toxic society. He did so, not by escaping, but by engaging the culture. By the end of his life, he had counseled kings, directed policy, and had access to the most powerful throne of his generation. In all of this, Daniel’s faith was never diluted. He stood strong.
What did he know? What did he do? How can we adopt Daniel’s example into our own lives and culture? We’ll ask these questions and seek answers in our series, Daily Triumph.
