DOUBTFUL DISPUTATION
Do you ever wrestle with the dynamic of doubt to a point of disputation? It is a plateau of controversy where our humanity challenges the Divine. The thrall of anticipation has taken flight, the harness of expectation has been loosed and confidence has vanished away. Doubt wedges its way into the mind walking in stride with disappointment. One then gathers them-selves to a disposition finding articles of argumentation to administer an accusation to challenge the providence of the Almighty. One then calls the Omnipotent and Omniscient One to give an account. Their heart is ailing with disappointment, hurting with frustration, and raging with anger; because they have doubt and unbelief steaming within.
They have forsaken the virtues of patience; they have betrayed their trust and faith. They relinquish all their spiritual knowledge to enter into a debate. They blame the King of Heaven and accuse him for their lack, they blame the one who loves them and knows it’s best to wait. They raise their voice toward heaven and point the finger firm in hasty retribution for the things they feel they’ve earned.
While they engage His Highness unbeknown to them there stands right beside them demons that fan their rebellious fire, instigating every moment clandestinely delighting in the fray. They inspire darts of darkness upon this battle found where doubtful disputation becomes unholy ground. In the winds they whisper words which are profound, skillfully seducing a hurting heart by robbing it of words that endear. They provoke these empty vessels void of hope and love to spew the words of hatred just too severe bonds. The controversy rages upon this unholy plain of doubtful disputation to strengthen the hurt and pain. When just to love and trust him and know he does the same, where patience would have manufactured a lot of faith and gain.
Brethren, many times the enemy of our soul’s takes advantage of delay which in reality is not delay. Because God already has a due date for something that we may have asked for and that we at the beginning had a confirmation he was going to provide or bring about. Many times where we are given a promise from God in response to prayer, we must then be patient in waiting upon the Lord to bring it about.
When one goes to the doctor, they sign in; then promptly take a seat to wait for their appointment with the doctor. They may be anxious but wait their turn nonetheless. Why? Because they’re in close proximity to having their problem processed, defined, and then resolved. Many are able to wait upon a human solution but fall short of the patience needed to acquire their desire from the Lord. “God is not lack” concerning his promises, he is well able to answer our prayers, however to the dismay of many; God also says no if one is listening. But instead of listening that one begins insisting that God give them what they want, even though it is not promised, even though it will not happen, they stand in false expectation based upon a false hope. Brethren in The Lord Yahweh we have a sure word, in this new covenant which is greater than the last one we have a more sure word than before. Look at the Prophet Isaiah’s discourse to a doubting Israel:
(27) Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
(28) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
(29) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
(30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
(31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:27-31 KJV
Wow! If Yahweh in the Old Testament could give this kind of assurance to those who wait upon him, how much more can we trust Yeshua in the New Testament which far exceeds the old and has far greater benefits, promises, and assurances.
Brethren, keep the faith today by not allowing your situation or your circumstance to open the doors of doubt to a confrontation and disputation with the Lord. When we doubt him or his sincerity toward us, we open ourselves up to the influence of the demonic realm and begin to stand in stark opposition to the Lord himself and to bring a chastening instead of the blessing which has entrusted to him. When we allow ourselves to become rebellious instead of patient the end result could be us breaking covenant with the Lord because of the element of pride seeping into our spirit.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 KJV
Brethren keep the faith and the faith will keep you in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in whom all the promises of God are yea and amen. Selah
