Acts 7:44-46 King James Version (KJV)
44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
Acts 7:44-46 World English Bible (WEB)
44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen; 45 which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered into the possession of the nations, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, to the days of David, 46 who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
44 Moses was given the commands on how to build this tabernacle also known as the tent of meeting, it would be tent and they would move as they went places in the wilderness.
45 They tent of meeting lasted until the days of Solomon the tent would stay in one place Jerusalem for a long time before David noticed the tent and then thought why it God’s house still a tent instead of a permanent place.
46 The temple building would be in the planning stages and while David could build it he gather all the supplies and did whatever the Lord allowed him to do.
