Nehemiah 3:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 3:8-9 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
8 By his hand hath Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the refiners strengthened; and by his hand hath Hananiah son of [one of] the compounders strengthened; and they leave Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
9 And by their hand hath Rephaiah son of Hur, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, strengthened.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
8 These would be working on the gold because they were gold smiths, God often will use our talents to serve Him. They had one work there who was a doctor, he might be used to help people when they get exhausted or hurt but he still wanted his part in building the wall. We should want our part to serve the Lord because He has a part for us to do.
9 So the ruler gets involved in the building this wall would keep his ruling safe from outside attacks, do we set up walls in our lives to where we are safe in a place with us and God, satan still will attack but the walls help us defend.
