Acts 9:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
Acts 9:10-12 Expanded Bible (EXB)
10 There was a •follower of Jesus [L disciple] in Damascus named Ananias [22:12]. The Lord spoke to Ananias in a vision, “Ananias!”
Ananias answered, “Here I am, Lord.”
11 The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to Straight Street [C the main east-west street of the city]. Find the house of Judas [C not either of Jesus’ disciples by that name; Judas was a common name], and ask for a man named Saul from the city of Tarsus [C a town in Cilicia, a Roman province in southeastern Asia Minor (present-day Turkey)]. He is there now, praying. 12 Saul has seen a vision in which a man named Ananias comes to him and •lays [places] his hands on him. Then he is able to see again.”

10 God still can speak thru dreams today. The purpose of the disciple was to help Saul, this would be scary for him but God knew what Paul would become for Him. Sometimes God may have just one large purpose for us and that everything we go thru is leading up to that point. He was willing to serve the Lord. We have to be willing to serve and then God will use us.
11 This would have come something across both as news and fearful to him. Saul wanted to kill the Christians but now he was praying. Sometimes God wants us to do what seems impossible or unsafe but we are to trust Him because often times this is where He would work thru us the most but to do this we have to know God’s voice apart from everything else.
12 So Saul knew Ananias would be the one healing him, Saul may have been thinking because of who he was that no one would come to him, he had been chief of Pharisees but where did that get him now that he was blind and alone, sin does the same to us, we have hope in Christ.
