Numbers 20:25-29 King James Version (KJV)
25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:
26 And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
27 And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.
29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
Numbers 20:25-29 International Standard Version (ISV)
25 So take Aaron and his son Eleazar and ascend Mount Hor. 26 Remove Aaron’s vestments and place them on his son Eleazar, because Aaron is to be gathered to his people and die there.”
27 So Moses did just what the LORD had commanded. They ascended Mount Hor right in front of the entire community. 28 As Moses was stripping Aaron’s garments from him and clothing Aaron’s son Eleazar with them, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Afterwards, Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. 29 When the entire community saw that Aaron had died, they mourned in memory of Aaron for 30 days.

25 This was because Aaron was about to die and Moses was to see that Eleazar became the new high priest.
26 Its important for leadership to change and us not live in the past but look to the future and prepare for it. We can have great leaders around but there comes a time when they pass away and its important at that time somebody be ready to step up and serve.
27 The community would have saw this happen, it was most likely done on the mountain so everyone could look up and see what was happening.
28 Moses striping Aaron would have been him taking the priest garments and putting them on Eleazar. This would change of leadership.
29 They paid respect during this time of mourning. Sometimes we make the mistake of not showing we care about people until they are gone, we should show them we care while they are still alive so we don’t have regrets when we miss them.
