Acts 9:40-43 King James Version (KJV)
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
Acts 9:40-43 New King James Version (NKJV)
40 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. 41 Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. 42 And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord. 43 So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.

40 Peter needed them to leave so he could go before the Lord in prayer so that Jesus thru him may heal her. Prayer is what made this an act of God and not of Peter. We as Christians are to do acts of God when serving Him and prayer is a main key to serving. So Jesus thru Peter rose her from the dead, this is the first time for this to happen after Jesus went back to heaven.
41 So Peter called for the mourners so that now they would be praising God. It is so easy to be negative but are we as quick and passionate to be positive.
42 The Lord and what He can do spread, it is good that it was Jesus that spread and not what Peter did often time we focus more on the man God uses then we should but our focus needs to be on the Lord.
43 So Peter stayed because he was needed to minister sometime God will change our plans because He plans to use us.
