16 And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORDspake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

Numbers 21:16-17 International Standard Version (ISV)
16 From there they traveled to the Well of Beer, where the LORD had instructed Moses, “Gather the people together and I’ll give you water.” 17 That’s also where Israel sang this song:
Rise up, well!
Sing to it!

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
16 They whined about water when the next place God was leading them was a well, often times we act this same way instead of seeking God and waiting for His plans to meet our need we whine and rebel. God wanted to meet their need, He just wanted them to seek Him rather then complain, we need to seek God for our needs but also praise Him for what we have by praising Him we are less likely to complain.
17 The people sung but this verse seems they are praising the well, when God blesses us do we praise the blessing or do we praise Him, we need to praise Him for the blessing, the greatest blessing is that we can praise Him.
