Good Evening Everyone... I was wondering if anyone does Verse Mapping?
If you never heard of it well let me give you an in site on what it consists of..
supplies you will need:
Colored pens or pencils
Notebook or index cards
Bible
Highlighters
Okay lets begin
Now there are many different variations from Character Mapping to Verse Mapping .
Now the idea of Bible/Verse Mapping is to break a verse or passage down to dig deeper and apply the Word in our lives.
1 – Write the verse out (That stood out to you)with space between the words and between the lines – That away you can write between them.Choose one color for the Verse .( I may use Blue)
2 – Replace the pronouns like He/she, I, etc with YOUR NAME I usually use a different color pen for this.(I may use green)
P.S I Use PURPLE to Circle around God or Jesus
3 –You can draw a circle or Box around the key words, (I use another color for this).
4 – Highlight what stands out to you (here I just simply use a highlighter)
5– Look at the cross references in your Bible. Often these little notes have a huge impact on the context and meaning of the verse. (Here use another color)
6– At the bottom Summarize it in a few sentences ,write any other thoughts you may have on the verse (here use another color)
7- Think about how you can apply it to your everyday life
8- Pray to God about what you learned ,and ask for his help with applying it to your everyday life
Here is an example of one I am working on (sorry for the glare)
Choose a verse here and there, work on it all at once or over several days.
