Numbers 22:11-12 King James Version (KJV)
11 Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.
12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.
Numbers 22:11-12 International Standard Version (ISV)
11 ‘Look! A group of people have escaped from Egypt. They cover the surface of the whole earth! So come right now and curse them for me. Perhaps I’ll be able to fight against them and drive them out.’”
12 But God told Balaam, “Don’t go with them. Don’t curse the people, because they’re blessed.”

11 The Israelites were able to escape Egypt because of them being lead by God and being His people, Egypt would never be the same again because of the plagues that came their way. There were many of the Israelites but their strength was always the Lord and never there numbers. Our strength is the Lord. If they were cursed, he might have a chance against them. When we fall into sin and distance from the Lord we are at our weakest.
12 God was warning Balaam. It is unwise for the world to mess with us who are Christians but they don’t and many of them don’t get warnings and if they did they most likely wouldn’t listen because if they did they would one of us rather then being against us. Balaam was being moved by money and not by God. God still spoke to Balaam for now even though Balaam was doing what he wanted instead of what the Lord wanted of him. We may as Christians have the Lord talk to us before we enter sin, we should listen and don’t want this to go away because of us not listening.
